Happy Sunday everyone!
Today’s blog is going to be shorter than usual.
This week was quite successful. The research project has started and I am happy with my task and that I will be able to work on this next to studying for my exams.
University classes have not started yet, I still have one more week of “vacation”. In fact, I have not really relaxed at all, I have been writing all day in these past couple of days. I read a ton of papers on pubmed and I am quite happy with the content of future posts.
However, I will not be posting as frequently as I did before. I have already published 66 articles and I am sure there are still many people who haven’t read them all. I will maybe repost some of them and publish a new article every Wednesday, at 6p.m. european time and 12p.m. EST. Other than that, I will blog on Sunday’s to review my week and keep you updated.
I have some plans for this blog in mind am working on them right now. That’s why I have written like crazy, so I have more time to focus on other things now.
In addition to that, I will be very busy when the semester starts, so posting one scientific article per week is the best I will manage. I hope you are not disappointed. The articles took quite long to write, as they contain the newest research there is. So, I hope I can still deliver, even if it is not that often.
Other than that, I am planning on learning new skills next week for examination for pediatrics and reading a bit in my books to have more knowledge when the semester really starts. Call me a geek, but this last year of med school is going to be tough. I have already planned my days up until 22.12., so I don’t miss any appointments.
Every Wednesday, we don’t have classes and get tasks to complete on our own. I will do those on Tuesday, so I can work on the research project on Wednesday. If everything goes as planned, I will be done with the project when I have passed the first big exam in October 2016. Then, my clinical year starts and after that I have another exam and hopefully I am done.
I have to say I am quite motivated and excited that this is the last official year of studying. I feel ready to start working and already know my major I am going to choose, so I wish time could go by more quickly and I could be done already.
I had more time to cook, so we made some really delicious meals. The grocery store has 2kg wild salmon and we prepare it in the oven and eat it 2 days in a row. That is very convenient and delicious at the same time!
I share most of my meals and workouts in my instagram account, so you can follow me there if you would like to.
I was able to get in all my workouts this week, which is obvious, as I am at home most of the time. I took a rest day yesterday and today I had a little bit of joint pain. I am not sore, just feeling a little uncoordinated … I did an extra round of core training, which always helps when I feel unstable or uneven like this. Other than that, I am aware that my workout will need to get shorter once the semester starts but as I don’t have any specific fitness goals at the moment, I will just try to maintain and use my workouts to de-stress from studying.
I am kind of back to my own workouts now. I am still doing the abdominal program by fitnessblender and use their cardio and HIIT workouts. For strength training, I always design my own workouts. I just don’t like doing the same exercises and switch it up by changing sets and repetitions.
How about you? What was your week like?
Wish you all a relaxing Sunday!
