How everything started
Everything started with an App by Fitnessblender on my phone. Everyone shares their stories, workouts, food and motivates others to live a healthier lifestyle. I started posting there in July and quickly gained quite a few followers. Don’t ask me why, but they seemed to find me interesting. I started sharing tips about Fitness and Nutrition and someone suggested I should start a blog and open a channel on You Tube. As I am not familiar with editing videos yet, I decided to start a blog and began writing. In around 2 days, this blog went life (it was summer vacation). These past 1 1/2 months I have received so many lovely comments and messages on social media and on this blog and that is a huge motivation for me to keep going. I am constantly researching for new studies on fitness and nutritional topics anyways, so why not share my knowledge with my readers?
I love working with people and some have said that my tips helped them to get back on track and live healthier than before. What else can I ask for?
Advice for new bloggers
Don’t expect your blog to gain lots of followers over night. In fact, I did not pay attention to follower numbers at all, in the beginning. I had my reader from the Fitnessblender App and their positive feedback motivated me to write as much as I could in my free time. In fact, my best advice is that you have a good reason to keep writing on your blog. If you just started your blog to gain lots of followers, you will not be as passionate about it. I see my blog as my “baby” and it helps me to let go of the stress when I write down everything I know. Keep at it and love your blog!
2. Social interaction
This is crucial. In the beginning, my writing style was quite different and I am still trying to improve. English is not my mother tongue but I try to let these articles sound as professional as possible. Reading other bloggers articles, has helped me to improve my writing and blogging is much more fun when you have friends. Find blogs in your niche or your interests and follow them. It does not make sense to me to follow a blog if you are not interested in the content. Comment on their posts and show that you care. People visiting their blogs might see your comment and visit your site. That is a great way to gain more followers without promoting too much (which I hate).
I am fairly new to blogging myself, so I hope these tips are useful for someone. I am trying to learn as much about blogging and social media too.
Who I nominate
